I’m get­ti­ing invalid for­mat when I try to open this — I’ve down­loaded twice, once using Chrome and once using IE — same result each time. I’m on Adobe reader X.
Am I alone?

Pdf xchange viewer 2

I tried to open the charsheet as well (Acro­bat Reader 11), got an error mes­sage that the file is invalid :)

I had zero issues with either the link that Ian posted in this thread or just now check­ing the down­loads page link.

Doesn’t open in either Pre­view or Adobe Reader for OSX (most cur­rent ver­sions). Seems the file is at least a lit­tle borked.

Inter­est­ing. The file has been pro­duced for Adobe Reader X. It sur­prises me that later edi­tions of the Reader can’t read it.

By remov­ing the back­wards com­pat­i­bil­ity the file size dropped from 56 mb to 2 mb. I will look at pro­gres­sively adding back­wards com­pataibil­ity until the file becomes too large.

I believe that com­pat­i­bil­ity is a must for such file.
Not all peo­ple have (want to have) adobe reader of exact ver­sion to have installed or Adobe reader soft at all.

Another thing is charsheet usabil­ity. The one in core sys­tem pdf is nice, but def­i­nitely not very printer friendly. Would it be pos­si­ble to cre­ate also some BW one with no back­ground layer?

And the final thing would be to cre­ate editable pdf (I like to use them) :)

That is one way of look­ing at it.

Another would be to say that this is the free ver­sion of the game, a PDF has been cre­ated, and if you want to use that PDF you might have to put in a small amount of effort — or you might not, if you are for­tu­nate. The PDF isn’t locked, there are all sorts of ways to open it and resave it in a vari­ety of for­mats…

Alter­na­tively you can wait until March/​April, buy a copy of Blade, and have access to all the good­ies that come with it.

Yes I was think­ing more of a com­mer­cial ver­sion.
It would be very sad for me to buy it and find out I cant use it.
