I would very much like to draw your attention to a fabulous little Sword and Sorcery setting, The Lands of the Drakkarn Sea.

It was written by our member Certic and originally made available as a download over at trosfans. You can grab the 1 MB, 40 pages PDF right here.

The setting was written for S & S-style play with TRoS, which means that it should be very easy to adapt it to use with Blade of the Iron Throne. This does even hold true for the magic mechanics: The Lands of the Drakkarn Sea was a huge inspiration for our own sorcery mechanics, which are patterned very closely on Certic’s.

A very heartfelt “thank you” for this, Certic!
Bow down: I am the emperor of dreams;
I crown me with the million-colored sun
Of secret worlds incredible, and take
Their trailing skies for vestment when I soar.

No, Certic. Thank you — thank you for for inspiring us, and kudos to you for upholding the banner of Sword & Sorcery gaming already years ago, and thank you once again for making your setting available. My group played one of our typical, short mini-campaigns (still of TRoS) in The Lands of the Drakkarn Sea, and we thoroughly enjoyed your creation. :)

I very much hope that somebody picks up your setting to try Blade in it — I know they won’t be disappointed.

Wow, this is great, I am glad I found it. So many resources, so little time! Certic, this looks awesome… did you run campaigns here? Are there any adventure logs?

Very cool stuff!

I ran it originally as a campaign using RuneQuest, 1988 onwards, grandually expanding it from the core area (Sarandur and Sakaden) I’ve never actually run it as a TRoS campaign.
